Shweta Menon, the leggy lass, was born on 23rd April in Chandigarh. Though she is a South-Indian her Hindi is impeccable, which works very well in her favor. Her father was in the Indian Air Force and her mom a home-maker.

The reason behind this is her dad, who is in the Indian Air Force, and has been re-located to Punjay, Hyderabad, & Bangalore. She lived a life of luxury as a child. She studied in Vendriya Vidyalaya High School in Calicut, was constantly distracted, compelling her 12th standard chemistry teacher to admonish her, and ask to seek a film career.
Not many people know that she was Miss Bangalore and competed in the Miss India pageant in 1994. That was the same year that Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss India and Aishwarya Rai was the first runner up, and Shweta was the second runner up. At the Miss Asia Pacific Pageant she was a runner up.
She has appeared in the Kamasutra condom ad. wearing a 2-piece bathing suite.
She then appeared in several Bollywood flicks, starting from 'Prithvi' in 1997 through on to 'Nehle Pe Dehla' in 2007. She became an actress after being spurred on by Aamir Khan and Baba Azmi, and worked in an industry of which she had no knowledge nor understanding, nor did she have anyone to guide her. She has also appeared in Tamil and Malayalam movies.
She is involved as an actress in the filming of 'Akasha Gopuram' and 'Paradesi' both in Malayalam, alongside Mohanlal.
